Darling White Lake Centre
The Darling White Lake area is an isolated area in the Northeast of Lanark Highlands not directly connected by road to the remainder of the township. It comprises about 375 dwellings that are mostly ribboned along the shoreline of White Lake. As this area has become a retirement community over the last 25 years, approximately 60% of the residents are over 55. While it is said that the Darling White Lake Centre was built by volunteers, the Centre was instrumental in building a strong and vibrant community in the Darling White Lake area.

The Darling White Lake Centre is a modern building that can accommodate 70 people inside and another 40 on the covered patio. It includes a covered patio, a modern kitchen, a/c, Generac, Wi-Fi, large tv screen, white board and library. The construction of the DWLC was completed in 2013. The Centre has become the central meeting location for the Darling White Lake area. It is used for: community meetings, social gatherings and activities, training and information sessions, emergency centre, and private rentals.
In addition to the DWLC - a separate facility, the White Lake Sports Centre (former Snye Road Fire Station) opened its doors in the summer of 2023. It was has quickly become a popular venue for pickleball enthusiasts who meet several times a week for regular exercise and comradery.
