White Lake Sports Centre

The White Lake Sports Centre (WLSC) opened in July 2023 on the site of our former Fire Station which closed in 2022. The Fire Hall was erected on a lot donated by a resident and was constructed, equipped, and maintained with funds obtained through community fundraising activities and local businesses in addition to funding from our Township, and provincial and federal government infrastructure programs. The all-volunteer Fire Hall Station 5 was officially opened in 1995 and became a mainstay to the White Lake community until its closure in 2022.

Following the official closure of the Fire Hall, a project was presented to the Township to repurpose the building as a sports facility. Approval was received from Lanark Highlands Council in April 2023. After completing a few renovations and repairs, establishing a booking website, and promoting the facility, the White Lake Sports Centre, managed by a committee of volunteers, opened its doors in the Summer of 2023. The programs currently offered are pickleball, badminton, and table tennis. The centre has one court and is open seven days a week. Free pickleball initiation sessions as well as improvement clinics are offered. In October 2024, with the help of financial support from the HNN, the concrete floor was resurfaced to ensure better traction. A total of 15 volunteers donated their time to accomplish this major undertaking which proved to be very successful.
